Two Barber Lab students receive awards for brain injury research

Two students in Dr. Annika Barber's lab have received prestigious awards for their work in brain injury research. Seanna Kelly, a PhD student in the Rutgers Molecular Biosciences doctoral program was awarded a 3 year pre-doctoral fellowship from the New Jersey Commission on Brain Injury Research and Akanksha Mathivanan, a junior in the Cell and Biology Neuroscience program will be awarded the 2024 Mimi Goldman Positive Achievement Award from the Brain Injury Alliance of New Jersey (https://www.bianj.org/seminar2024/). This award recognizes the accomplishments of TBI survivors and focuses on Akanksha's research and her outreach to high schools about TBI risks from youth sports.
