Genomics Facility's Next Generation 5500xl SOLiD™ System offers major advancements in throughput and maximum savings with pay-per-lane technology.
With the addition of the 5500xl SOLiD™ sequencing platform by Life Technologies, the Genomics Core Facility at the Waksman Institute of Microbiology gains a significant boost of its Next Generation services as well as an offering of cost-effective solutions to our customers. The advances of the 5500xl SOLiD™ platform not only enables us to provide solutions for individual customers' needs but also allows us to run independent experiments in parallel with independent reagent consumption. The Flowchip technology makes it the only next-generation sequencing platform to run just one, a few, or all lanes while paying only for the reagents used for those active lanes. We offer multiple sequencing applications that differ in read length, and run type including:
- Whole genome and targeted resequencing
- De novo genome assembly
- SNP and INDEL detection, CNV analysis
- Whole transcriptome analysis
- Small RNA discovery
- ChIP-Seq
- Methylome discovery
- SAGE
- Multiplexing for Illumina single read and paired-end, and SOLiD fragment and paired-end
